
MAYVILLE, N.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team added another victory to the win column, thrashing Valley City State University in three-straight sets in the Mayville State University Tournament on Saturday in Mayville, N.D.
Set scores were 25-11, 25-15 and 25-21 in favor of the Tigers.
The Tigers jumped out to an early 7-3 lead in the first set, taking it by storm 25-11. In the second set, DWU was down 6-4, but rallied back to take the set 25-15. In the finale, the Vikings gave the Tigers a run, but DWU remained error-free for much of the set, defeating VCSU 25-21.
Freshman Rebecca Frick (Yankton, S.D.) led the Tiger offense with 15 kills and two block assists. Senior Lauren Tadlock (Rapid City, S.D.) added 10 kills and six digs. Dana Misiaszek (Mitchell, S.D.) chipped in seven kills, 11 digs and three block assists. The DWU offense finished with a .311 hitting percentage.
The Tigers (15-9, 3-7 GPAC) step back into conference play, hosting Northwestern College for a GPAC match up at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday inside the Christen Athletic Center in Mitchell, S.D.
