Tiger volleyball players honored with postseason accolades
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team had a season to remember, thanks to senior outside hitter Lauren Tadlock (Rapid City, S.D.). Her record breaking season led to a Great Plains Athletic Conference postseason award. Tadlock received All-GPAC First Team, making it the first time in 14 seasons the Tigers had a player receive such honors.
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team had a season to remember, thanks to senior outside hitter Lauren Tadlock (Rapid City, S.D.). Her record breaking season led to a Great Plains Athletic Conference postseason award. Tadlock received All-GPAC First Team, making it the first time in 14 seasons the Tigers had a player receive such honors.
As of Nov. 16, she ranked fourth in the NAIA in kills with 547, and sixth in kills per game with 4.52. Tadlock finished 13 games this season with at least 20 kills and 10 digs with her top-performance coming at Concordia University with a season high 29 kills and 17 digs. Tadlock finished her career in third place in the DWU all-time career kills list with 1,328.
Senior Libero Taylor Spence (North Branch, Minn.) and senior right-side Dana Misiaszek (Mitchell, S.D.) each received All-GPAC Honorable Mention for their efforts in their final season as a Tiger. Spence finished the season with 728 digs, which was a personal best in her four years. She finished her career with 1,637 digs, putting her in fourth place all-time on the DWU career digs list. Her efforts behind the net put the team at No. 12 in the NAIA in digs per game at the end of the regular season with 18.79.
Misiaszek finished the season with 317 kills and 21 ace serves, putting her second and third on the team in each category, respectively. She finished her senior season with six double-doubles in kills and digs, respectively. Her best game came against Midland University with 15 kills and 23 digs. Misiaszek finished her career with 732 kills putting her among the ranks of the all-time best in DWU history.
The Tigers finished their season with an 18-14 record and ninth in the GPAC. The overall record solidified the first winning season for the Tiger volleyball team since 1993.
