No. 9 Midland downs DWU in four sets
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team took a set from the No. 9 Midland University Warriors, however that's all the Tigers could muster as the Warriors defeated DWU on Dig Pink Day in four sets in Great Plains Athletic Conference play on Saturday in the Christen Family Athletic Center in Mitchell.

Set scores were: 25-19, 26-24, 22-25 and 25-18 in favor of the Warriors.

After taking the first two sets, the Tigers were down 16-11 in the third and crawled their way back to even the set up at 19, thanks to a kill by Kimberly VanBockern (Arlington, S.D.). Three errors in the latter portion of the set proved to be costly for Midland, giving the set to DWU. Midland would respond by taking the fourth set after recording three-straight kills.

Rebecca Frick (Yankton, S.D.) led the Tigers with 12 kills. Freshman Chelsey Heeg (Freeman, S.D.) added eight kills, while Bridgett Knobbe (Norfolk, Neb.) had a double-double with 21 assists and 11 digs.
