Frick tabbed with Second Team Honors, Herman and Knobbe named Honorable Mention
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team landed three players on the Great Plains Athletic Conference All-Conference team with Rebecca Frick, Sara Herman and Bridgett Knobbe the conference announced Wednesday.
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team landed three players on the Great Plains Athletic Conference All-Conference team with Rebecca Frick, Sara Herman and Bridgett Knobbe the conference announced Wednesday.
Frick (Yankton, S.D.) landed on the All-GPAC Second Team after her sophomore season. She led the team in kills and ranked 12th in the NAIA in total kills with 462 on the season. Frick also tallied 470 digs on the season, good for second on the team.
She had a season-high with 26 kills against Grace University on Sept. 9 and had a season-high with 27 digs against Mount Marty on Sept. 5.
On the DWU all-time career chart, Frick currently ranks 14th with 706 kills and ranks 23rd with 546 digs.
Herman (Reliance, S.D.) was named All-GPAC Honorable Mention in her first season as the DWU Libero. She led the team in digs and ranked 35th nationally in total digs with 610. She recorded a season-high in digs with 35 against Presentation College on Oct. 10.
After her freshman season, Herman ranks 19th on the DWU all-time career list for digs with 610.
Knobbe (Norfolk, Neb.) made an immediate impact as she played in every game. She was a solid force on the offensive end as she finished the season with 1,066 assists, good for 45th in the NAIA. She also ranks ninth in DWU history for all-time assists in a career with three seasons left to play.
She notched a season-high in assists with 62 against Grace University on Sept. 9. Knobbe also tallied 29 digs against Presentation College on Oct. 10.
The Tigers finished the season 16-18 overall, one game shy of making the GPAC tournament.
