(RV) Morningside takes down DWU volleyball

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team was unable to take a set against (RV) Morningside College in Great Plains Athletic Conference play Saturday in Sioux City, Iowa.

 Set scores were 22-25, 23-25, 16-25.

 The Tigers (11-5, 1-4 GPAC) held an early lead and competed the entire set but were unable to take the opening set of the day. Much of the same happened for DWU in the second set as they held a six-point lead, but dropped the set. The Mustangs (9-6, 4-2 GPAC) owned the third set to defeat the Tigers in straight sets in conference action.

 Rebecca Frick (Yankton, S.D.) led the Tigers with 11 kills and eight digs, while Mallory Cooper (Orchard, Neb.) finished with 25 digs. Madison Smith (Watertown, S.D.) and Chaydon Metzger (Larchwood, Iowa) tallied seven kills apiece.

 DWU takes on Dakota State University in non-conference action at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Madison, S.D.
