TIGERS VOLLEYBALL TAKES DOWN NO. 9 AT HOME

Mitchell, S.D. – RV Dakota Wesleyan volleyball defeated Northwestern in three sets, handing the Raiders their third loss of the year and second loss in conference play. This also marks the first time under head coach Lindsay Wilber the Tigers have beat the Raiders.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • DWU and NWC were back and forth in the first set as Northwestern outhit Dakota Wesleyan .448 percent to .378 percent.
  • The Tigers notched points from three different players with Ady Dwight, Mackenzie Miller, and Jadie DeLange to solidify the first set victory.
  • The Tigers jumped ahead quickly in the second set, 6-1, then after dropping two points, DWU went on another 8-0 run extending their lead to 14-3
  • Northwestern was kept in check by Dakota Wesleyan throughout the second set, only putting together a maximum of three points consecutively
  • Neither the Tigers nor the Raiders hit well in the final set, but DWU was able to capitalize on the Northwestern errors down the stretch with a 5-0 run
  • Dakota Wesleyan outhit Northwestern .240 percent to .178 percent in the match
  • Miller and Dwight led the attacking effort in the match, hitting .562 and .500, respectively
  • Notching 15 of the teams 42 total digs was Hanna Reiff
  • The Tigers played strong at the net with 13 total blocks, led by Miller with five of her own
