Mitchell, S.D. – No. 15 Dakota Wesleyan volleyball collected their 14th three-set sweep of the season against a receiving votes Hastings College. Ady Dwight hits her best of the season with a .533 hitting percentage and no errors.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Tigers' volleyball put together several small runs through the first set, most notably a four-point run that extended their lead to 13-9.
  • The Broncos brought the set within three points at 22-19 before DWU closed the door of the first set win of 25-22.
  • Dakota Wesleyan volleyball found some rhythm in the second set, putting together multiple runs of three and four points and slowly expanding their lead.
  • While Hastings College did earn some points of their own, 21 points to be exact, it wasn't enough as DWU grabbed another set win going up in the match 2-0.
  • Mariah Gloe led the effort in the Tigers largest run of the evening with an 8-0 run halfway through the third set.
  • With an 18-6 lead, the Broncos grabbed another 11 points in the final set as Dakota Wesleyan grabbed the win and the sweep with a 25-17 third-set win.
  • The Tigers hit their best in the third set with a .432 hitting percentage.
  • Overall, DWU hit .237 percent with 51 total kills on 128 attempts.
  • Dwight led the tigers notching 16 kills and a new season-high in hitting percentage with .533 percent.
  • Dwight did not record an error on 30 total attempts.
  • Mackenzie Miller followed with 11 kills of her own for a hitting percentage of .333 percent.
  • Hanna Reiff and Mariah Gloe notched 17 and 15 digs, respectively of the 67 total team digs.
  • Taylee Indahl and Madeline Else each notched one solo block on the evening.

No. 15 Dakota Wesleyan will continue their late-season homestand tomorrow afternoon in their annual pink match. The Tigers will take on another top-25 team, welcoming No. 23 Doane to the Christen Athletic Center. The junior varsity squads will take the court in a 1:30 p.m. match. Then the varsity squads will square off in a 3 p.m. game.
