Recap
In game one the Tigers earned the win over the Blue Hawks in three straight sets. DWU won the sets 25-20, 25-13, and 25-19. Ady Dwight paced all attackers with her 19 kills, marking the seventh straight game with 14+ kills. Kayleigh Hybertson continued to command the court with her 38 assists, half going to Dwight with her 19. Elizabeth Tyler was extremely active for the Tigers with her leading and tied season-high 16 digs in the contest. Emily Dale had a massive game at the net with her career-high six blocks and also added nine kills to be a big number two option for Hybertson behind Dwight. The Tigers controlled the net all game with a combined 15 total blocks resulting in holding DSU to just a .089 attack percentage. Meanwhile Dakota Wesleyan had a .244 percentage with their best set coming in set one when they racked up 18 kills with only four errors for a .318 percentage. The highlight of the first set came from Lily Ranschau though when she made a, ESPN top-10 type play diving full extension to keep the ball alive and over the net, resulting in the Tigers putting the point away later in the rally.
The DWU offense slowed down a little bit in set two but kept the pressure at the net with their blocks getting a touch or full block on almost every Blue Hawk attack attempt. It was a team effort in the back row throughout the game with four Tigers being credited with double digit digs. Dakota Wesleyan had six aces during the contest but uncharacteristically had as many service errors. This wasn't enough for Dickinson State to make any kind of run as they couldn't match the Tigers presence at the net, resulting in the 3-0 victory for Dakota Wesleyan, giving them their 10th win of the season.
Dakota Wesleyan struggled in game two against a strong Valley City State opponent. The Vikings racked up 13, 16, and 17 kills in the three sets compared to the Tigers 14, 11, and 13. DWU got another quality performance out of Ady Dwight who had 17 kills in the contest, bringing her daily total to 36. Tya Weideman had a strong game in the back row with her 25 digs. It was the Vikings this time that dominated the net with their 15 total blocks. Hybertson had 34 total assists in the three sets, giving her 72 assists in six sets.
