Seward, Neb. – Dakota Wesleyan volleyball 2023 season came to end with their three-set loss to No. 2 seed and No. 4 ranked in the country Concordia Bulldogs. The Tigers struggled to find their rhythm on offense in this one and went against a Bulldog offense that was firing on all cylinders from start to finish. The Tigers ended with a .087 attack percentage compared to the Bulldogs .385. Ady Dwight paced all attackers with her 11 kills in the contest but had a very uncharacteristic seven attack errors to go with it. This was the result of Concordia executing their game plan to limit Dwight and had their block going which racked up 12 total blocks in the three-set contest. Elizabeth Tyler and Abigail Brunsing complemented Dwight with their five kills each while Tyler had the best attack percentage for DWU in the game with a .211. Tya Weideman recorded her 33rd game with double-digit digs on the season with 10 in the contest. Weideman only had one game in the 2023 regular season where she fell short of that double-digit mark.

The Tigers conclude their 2023 season with a 19-15 record, falling short of a third consecutive 20+ win season for Wilber. DWU had three big standout individual seasons in senior middle blocker Ady Dwight who currently sits top of the leaderboard in every major attacking category in the GPAC and top-5 in the NAIA. Senior Libero, Tya Weideman who currently is second in the GPAC in total digs and fourth in the NAIA. Freshman setter, Kayleigh Hybertson who currently ranks first in the GPAC in total assists and top-5 in the NAIA.

It wasn't just the big three that turned in a quality year, Dakota Wesleyan volleyball also got career-highs from returners, Abigail Brunsing in kills (235), Emily Dale in kills (185), and Callie Slagter in aces (31). While also getting big production from some newcomers. Elizabeth Tyler was the swiss army knife for the Tigers with her 220 kills, 385 digs, 20 blocks, and 21 aces. Carlee Laubach who contributed not only to the back row with her 294 digs but also at the service line with 20 aces. Lastly, Logan Bly who saw significant varsity time in the second half of the season and finished with 104 kills and 23 blocks.
