Wyatt Baldauf
Mitchell, S.D. – Tiger athlete-of-the-week award goes to Junior, men’s track athlete Wyatt Baldauf. Baldauf at the SDSU Indoor Classic beat his own school record times in both the 1 mile and 3000m. His new school record mile pace is 4:12.71 which also moved him from National “B” Standard to “A” Standard for that event. He crossed the finish line with a 8:26.67 in the 3000m which is also National “A” Standard and a school record.
Wyatt now owns the 1000m, 3000m, 5000m and 1 mile school record at DWU. Baldauf has also qualified for Nationals in all four of those events. National “A” Standard in the 1 mile and 3000m while getting National “B” Standard in the 1000m and 5000m. Wyatt also had a very successful cross country season earning the second fastest time in school history with a 25:00.92 and also qualified for Nationals.
Baldauf and the Tigers next compete at the GPAC Indoor Championships in Seward, Neb. February, 17th and 18th. (Host Concordia)
