Sutera leads DWU wrestling at Jimmie Open

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – Freshman Stas Sutera (Tyndall, S.D.) started his collegiate career off on the right track at the Jimmie Open on Saturday in Jamestown, N.D.
The former two-time South Dakota state champion received a bye in his first round and later defeated Stuart Brandt of the University of Jamestown by major decision, to propel his way into the semifinal match. Sutera dropped the semifinal match, but rallied from a seven-point deficit to pin Jake Hegel of the University of Mary to take third place.
Also picking up wins for the Tigers were Alex Osborne (Vermillion, S.D.) and Zechariah Westergaard (Vermillion, S.D.).
The Tigers are back in action against Doane University at 7 p.m. on Friday, before hosting the DWU Open on Saturday in Mitchell.
