Tigers drop home dual against Doane

MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University wrestling team opened up home action as they hosted Great Plains Athletic Conference foe, Doane University and were defeated, 37-13 Friday night at the DWU/Avera Sports and Wellness Complex.in Mitchell.

 Freshman Patrick West (Everett, Wash.) tallied his first collegiate victory as he defeated Kain Songster of Doane, 11-3. Tanner Wernsman (Arapahoe, Neb.) followed up with his first victory of the season as he took down Jacob Williams, 8-7.

 Forrest Lewis (Custer, S.D.) won by forfeit.

 The Tigers return to action as they host the DWU Open beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday at the DWU/Avera Sports and Wellness Complex in Mitchell.
