Rabenberg and Priebe lead the way at DWU Alumni Open
MITCHELL, S.D. – Sophomore Jared Rabenberg (Britton, S.D.) and freshman Tiegen Priebe (Chamberlain, S.D.) shined as the Dakota Wesleyan University men’s and women’s track and field teams competed at the DWU Alumni Open Saturday in Mitchell.

Rabenberg notched first place in the triple jump with a mark of 44-2.75 feet. In the high jump, he recorded a second-place finish with a leap of 6-4. Rabenberg currently ranks 10th in the NAIA in the high jump. Priebe tallied first place in the long jump with a jump of 21-4 and came in third in the triple jump with a mark of 43-5.75.
In the 600-meter run, Rex Schlicht (Woonsocket, S.D.) notched a second-place finish with a time of 1:25.17. Lane Tibbs (Kenesaw, Neb.) recorded an eighth-place finish in the 3,000-meter run in 9:14.17, while Dakota Bodden (Tabor, S.D.) came in sixth in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.86 seconds.
In the throwing events, Tyson Jenkins (Clark, S.D.) led the way for the Tigers. He came in first in the shot put with a throw of 54-7.25, automatically qualifying for the NAIA Indoor National Meet. Jenkins currently ranks eighth in the nation in the shot put. He also tallied a fourth-place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 52-2.5.
Caden Milmine (Buffalo, Wyo.) came in fourth in the shot put with a toss of 46-11.75 and notched a 17th-place finish in the weight throw at 41-9.75. Nick Raab (Yankton, S.D.) notched sixth place in the shot put after a throw of 42-4.75 and came in 15th in the weight throw after a toss of 43-6. Dawson Kerzman (Dell Rapids, S.D.) came in ninth in the shot put with a mark of 40-11.75 and 12th in the weight throw at 44-10.75.
For the women, Callie Heath (Colome, S.D.) came in fourth place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.32 and notched a 10th-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 32-7.5. Aubrey Rabenberg (Platte, S.D.) tallied a seventh-place finish in the 400-meter dash in 1:05.63, while Kaylynn Anziano (Rapid City, S.D.) came in 19th place in the 200-meter dash in 28.47.
In the 800-meter run, Samantha Schuyler (Winner, S.D.) notched third place with a time of 2:26.25 and came in seventh in the 600-meter run in 1:44.42. Kelsie King (Mission Viejo, Calif.) came in sixth in the 5,000-meter run in 20:40.90, while Alyssa Weidler (Sioux Falls, S.D.) came in fifth in the long jump with a mark of 16-3.
Kristen Longville (Lake Preston, S.D.) tallied a sixth-place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 34-4.75 and came in seventh in the long jump with a mark of 15-10.25. Claire Stoller (Madison, S.D.) came in fifth in the triple jump with a jump of 34-5.75 and notched a 10th-place finish in the long jump at 15-6.25.
Lydia Gerber (Canton, S.D.) notched a ninth-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 33-5.25. In the shot put, Madison Witte (Huron, S.D.) tallied seventh place with a throw of 38-0.25 and came in 11th in the weight throw after a toss of 41-1.5.
The Tigers compete at the SDSU Classic Friday and Saturday in Brookings, S.D.
