TIGERS ATHLETICS ANNOUNCES NEW HEAD COACH FOR CROSS COUNTRY/TRACK AND FIELD

Mitchell, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University Athletic Director Jon Hart today announced the appointment of a new head coach for cross country and track and field.

Rosado is currently the head coach for men's and women's cross country and track and field at Roosevelt University.  Prior to that, he served as head coach and assistant coach for men's and women's cross country and track and field at Calumet College of St. Joseph from 2018 through 2020.  At the NAIA level, he has coached two men's cross-country national qualifiers, one women's cross-country national qualifier, 20 school records, eight conference champions, four national qualifying marks and three outdoor All-Americans.

Rosado comes to Tiger athletics with an additional five years' coaching experience at the high school level where he held two assistant coaching stints working with sprinters, hurdlers, jumpers, and cross-country runners at East Chicago Central and Bishop Noll Institute. He found  success at the high school level, producing six all-conference performers, three conference championships, 16 women's school records, and 15 men's school records.

Rosado holds several coaching certifications including USATF Level 1 and USATF Level 2 sprints, hurdles, and relays.

Rosado spoke about the opportunity to lead the Tigers cross-country and track and field teams.  "I want to thank Jon Hart, interim president Theresa Kriese and the search committee for trusting in me to become part of the DWU family. From my first step on campus, I felt a genuine belief that the well-being of the students was number one.

"The support for athletics and the whole campus community was infectious. I'm excited to start this new chapter in my career and add to a rich history of competitive running and throwing here at Dakota Wesleyan University."

Athletic Director Jon Hart spoke about the hiring of Rosado stating, "We are very excited to have Coach Rosado joining our team after the first of the year. He brings great experience as a head coach and is very familiar with the NAIA landscape. We have high expectations for the future of the program under his leadership. He will be a great fit for our program and department."

Rosado will start January 3rd and will join associate head track and cross country coach, Chris Aschemann who has served as the interim since July.
