DWU CROSS COUNTRY GPAC CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW
Dakota Wesleyan's cross-country teams are traveling to North Sioux City, S.D. this weekend for the GPAC Cross Country Championship. The teams raced this course earlier this season and saw every athlete set new personal bests as well as three athletes move up in the DWU record books.
Look Back at the Season
DWU raced in five meets this season, seeing great success in each meet. Freshman star Abby Hasart has broken several records this season and claimed the top time in the women's 6k with her time of 23:16.20. Hasart has placed in the top ten in two races this season. Caley Murphy, another freshman moved into the fourth spot in the women's record books. Caleb Sayler has been a top finisher for the men's team all season and moved into the number four spot in the DWU records books this season with his time of 25:09.90. Sayler grabbed two top ten finishes this season and looks to do it again this weekend after he finished last year's championship race in 11th place. Hunter Shanks comes back for the Tigers and has been looking to get into the records books as well after just missing the top ten by a few seconds earlier this season. Shanks finished 35th at last year's GPAC championship and will look to improve that placement. DWU raced this course in the first week of October and saw great times and top finishes from all these athletes and will look for similar success.
