
Madison, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan fell 7-2 in a road matchup with non-conference opponent Dakota State in Madison, S.D. The Tigers held a 2-1 lead through five frames, but stumbled in the sixth when they surrendered six runs in the half frame. Both offenses stayed quiet the remainder of the game for the 7-2 final. Jacob Glovich got the nod and was cruising through the first five innings only giving up the one run while racking up five punchouts, before the sixth inning added six runs on to his total.
At the plate Carter Olek continued his efforts from last game with his two home runs and double with a RBI single in the first to give DWU an early 1-0 lead. DWU only managed one more hit the remainder of the game which came on a Nathan Meyers single in the fourth. Dakota Wesleyan was able to manufacture a run in the fourth when Michael Zeman came around to score on a Landon Ruesink sacrifice fly after his leadoff walk. The Tigers were outhit 10-2 by the Trojans while committing three errors in the field behind Glovich and relief pitcher, Andrew Evenson. Evenson did a quality of job in relief of keeping the Trojans off the scoreboard with his 2.1 innings of scoreless work.
