Game 1 - Dakota Wesleyan 4, Northwestern (Iowa) 2
Dakota Wesleyan picked up a 4-2 win over Northwestern at Drake Field, backed by a complete-game effort from Mitchell Sand. The senior right-hander allowed just four hits and two earned runs across seven innings, walking two and striking out two. He stayed efficient throughout, needing only 79 pitches to finish the game, and did not allow a run after the second inning.
Offensively, Dakota Wesleyan struck early, putting up three runs in the bottom of the first. Lane Darrow drove in the first run with a single, and Mason Riley followed with a two-RBI hit to give the Tigers a quick lead. Riley added another RBI in the second inning to extend the advantage to 4-1. Dakota Wesleyan finished with eight hits and didn't issue a walk at the plate, staying clean defensively with zero errors.
Northwestern managed just four hits and was held scoreless over the final four innings. Grant Guidry recorded the lone RBI for the Red Raiders, while Brody Ayers had the team's only extra-base hit, a double. Starter Micah De Haan took the loss, giving up all four runs—three earned—on eight hits across six innings. He threw 87 pitches and recorded three strikeouts.
Game 2 - Dakota Wesleyan 3, Northwestern (Iowa) 10
Despite a loss in Game 2, Dakota Wesleyan produced a steady offensive effort with 10 hits and three runs. Dexter Payne led the Tigers at the plate with a 1-for-4 outing, including a two-RBI double, while Ean Laird added an RBI single in the eighth. Lane Darrow contributed two hits and a run scored, and Carter Brown reached base three times with two hits and a walk.
On the mound, Dakota Munger threw seven full innings, giving up just four earned runs despite being charged with seven total. He struck out five and walked one across 89 pitches. Out of the bullpen, three relievers combined to finish the game, with Andrew Evenson posting a scoreless eighth inning.
Defensively, Dakota Wesleyan committed one error but limited Northwestern to just eight hits overall. Although the Tigers fell behind in the late innings — including a four-run seventh by Northwestern — they kept pace early and continued to generate baserunners throughout the game. DWU left seven runners on base in the contest.
