TIGERS FALL TO NO. 2 RED RAIDERS AT HOME

Mitchell, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan football struggled to find first downs Saturday afternoon against the Red Raiders. The Tiger's defense had big moments in the game, notching one interception and three sacks.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The first two Tigers' drives of the game resulted in interceptions.
  • After the first interception the Red Raiders ran one play for the last 12-yards to open the scoring and went ahead 7-0 of Dakota Wesleyan.
  • DWU's longest possession started at 9:17 in the second quarter, when the Tigers ran six plays over 27-yards.
  • Dakota Wesleyan's closest chance to get on the board was at the end of the drive despite Trevor Lambert's field goal being blocked on a 47-yard attempt.
  • Late in the third quarter, that Jacob Zamora notched an interception, denying NWC another touchdown.
  • In the final quarter, the Red Raiders would notch one more touchdown and a field goal from 43-yards for the final score of 50-0 over the Tigers.

Dakota Wesleyan football will take a road trip for the last time of the 2021 season. Next weekend the Tigers will travel to Sioux City, Iowa, for a 1 p.m. match-up against the Chargers of Briar Cliff.
