TIGERS PREVAIL OVER JIMMIES AT HOME

Mitchell, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan secured the win at home, notching over 34-minutes of possession in the game with 292 total yards of offense.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After a scoreless first quarter by each team, Cayden Cunningham finds Logan Feuerbach for the 11-yard touchdown to open the second quarter.
  • The Tigers touchdown drive lasted over eight minutes and span 45-yards on 13 plays for the 7-0 lead.
  • Dakota Wesleyan added another touchdown with three minutes and 15-seconds on the clock as Cunningham rushed for four yards, completing the drive of two plays that lasted 28-seconds and took them 32-yards.
  • Just before halftime Trevor Lambert hit a 26-yard field goal for the 17-0 lead going into intermission.
  • DWU's first drive of the third quarter; resulted in a touchdown from Jamin Arend and the 24-0 lead of the Jimmies.
  • That drive lasted nearly nine minutes that traveled 79-yards on 14 plays.
  • The Jimmies got on the board right away in the fourth quarter, on a 33-yard touchdown pass.
  • On Jamestown's next drive, they completed another touchdown pass, closing DWU's lead, 24-13.
  • With 5:37 remaining in the game, Nate Rupprecht forced a fumble on the Jamestown 19-yard line, giving the ball back to the Tigers' offense.
  • With one play, Cunningham connected with Tate Larson for the 20-yard passing touchdown and the Tigers' last score of the game, 31-13.
  • The Jimmies notched back-to-back touchdowns late in the fourth for the final score of DWU 31 – UJ 25.
  • Jamestown had more total offensive yards than DWU 385-292 in the game.
  • The Tigers notched more yards on the ground than the Jimmies, rushing for 167-yards compared to UJ's 19-yards on the ground.
  • Dakota Wesleyan recorded one interception that was returned for 81-yards, while Jamestown had one interception that was not returned.
