Recap:
The Red Raiders stepped on the pedal from the start and didn't back off scoring touchdowns on their first four drives of the game to give them a 26-0 lead through the first quarter and into the first minutes of the second quarter. Dakota Wesleyan would be forced to punt on all three of their first drives. DWU drives would be nine plays, 17 yards, 5:06; three plays, six yards, 1:36; eight plays, 34 yards and 4:27.
Halfway through the second quarter Austin Lee would connect with Kiel Nelson from 27 yards out to put the Tigers on the board making it 26-7 capping a 10 play, 75 yards 4:39 minute drive. DWU defense would come up with their stop of the game forcing the Red Raiders to punt with 3:30 left in the half. The Tigers would also have nothing going on offense and hand the ball back to NU with 1:52 remaining. Northwestern would add another score right before the half for a 33-7 halftime score.
The Red Raiders would find the endzone again in the third quarter and twice in the fourth for a 54-7 final. The Tigers would have a 11 play, 47-yard drive that was looking like it was going to turn into points be spoiled with an interception in Red Raider territory. DWU would turn the ball over twice in the second half.
Northwestern University tallied 190 yards on the ground while holding the Tigers run game to 30 yards which is coming off last week's game that saw Redshirt Sophomore running back, Jamin Arend pickup 198 yards on the ground. Tigers converted 7-14 first downs and 1-1 on fourth down. Final yardage would show the Red Raiders at 58 plays for 507 yards while the Tigers finished at 56 plays for 196 yards.
