NAIA ANNOUNCES A.O. DUER SCHOLARSHIP AWARD WINNER FOR 2021

Kansas City, Mo. – The NAIA announced this morning the receipient of the male A.O. Duer Scholarship Award. The A.O. Duer Scholarship Award is named in honor of the NAIA's former executive secretary who served the association for 26 years. This award has been annually presented since 1967 to a male and female student-athlete completing their junior season in any sport who has excelled in scholarship, character, and citizenship.

The male scholarship recipient for the 2021 NAIA A.O. Duer Award is Jeffrey Schuch from Dakota Wesleyan University, a member of the Tigers Men's Basketball Team.

Schuch, from Dell Rapids, South Dakota, holds a grade point average of 3.9 while working towards his degree in Biochemistry.

"Jeff's GPA (3.9) speaks for itself as Biochemistry is one of the most academically challenging majors at Dakota Wesleyan," said Dakota Wesleyan Faculty Athletics Representative Joel Reinesch.  "He is one of the nicest and most well-rounded individuals you will ever find.  Among all his activities and academic work, he also is a Certified Nurse Assistant at Avera Brady Health and Rehabilitation in Mitchell, South Dakota"

"In a program that values great teammates, Jeff is one of our best and one of the best I have ever coached, "said Tiger Men's Basketball Coach Matt Wilber.  "He is fiercely competitive, but he is always the understanding and supporting teammate as well in practice and on game night."
