Yankton, S.D.—Dakota Wesleyan men's basketball comes back from three down at halftime to win by 12. Jeffrey Schuch notches a double-double, while three other players record double-digit scoring.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Mount Marty jumped on DWU quickly, going ahead 8-4 after two and a half minutes.
  • The Tigers climbed back within one point after Mason Larson collected on a shot from beyond the arc.
  • As DWU trailed 28-24, heading into the last six minutes of the first half, neither team could make a basket for nearly five minutes.
  • The Tigers cracked the scoring drought as Ace Zorr made his second of two free throws.
  • Heading into halftime, Dakota Wesleyan was down 30-27.
  • After 20-minutes of play, DWU was 11-for-27 from the field, 2-for-10 beyond the arc, and 3-for-4 at the free-throw line.
  • Both the Tigers and Lancers had four turnovers, but DWU had five blocks.
  • Dakota Wesleyan kept Mount Marty close to start the second half, as Nick Wittler collected two made shots from deep, bringing the score within one, 41-42 MMU.
  • With five and a half minutes left, the Tigers got their first lead of the game as Schuch converted on both free throws for the 52-51 lead.
  • Koln Oppold extended the DWU lead 58-53 with two and half minutes remaining.
  • In the last minute, the Tigers went on a 9-2 run closing out the game and grabbing the 67-55 win on the road.
  • In the game, DWU shot 43.4% from the floor, 31.8% beyond the arc, and 77.8% at the free-throw line.
  • MMU shot 42.9% from the field, 18.8% from long range, and were 4-for-4 at the foul line.
  • The Tigers forced 11 Lancer turnovers; while only turning the ball over four times themselves.
  • DWU was outrebounded 30-25 in the match but tallied five blocks to MMU's single block.
  • The Tigers scored 15 points off Mount Marty turnovers and tallied 22 points in the paint.
  • The Dakota Wesleyan bench chipped in with seven points of their own.

Dakota Wesleyan men's basketball will travel north to Dickinson, N.D. for two neutral site games. On Friday, November 26, the Tigers will tip-off at 6 p.m. against Rocky Mountain. On Saturday, the 27th, DWU will take on Montana Western at 6 p.m. both games will be on the campus of Dickinson State University.
