Mitchell, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University men's basketball was unable to sustain the quick lead in the opening half after holding Briar Cliff scoreless through the first four minutes of play. Both the Tigers and Charger team benches chipped in with 15 points as the game had three lead changes and five tied game scenarios.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- DWU jumped ahead to a quick 10-0 lead after two jump shots and a pair of three-pointers just two and a half minutes into the game.
- After the quick lead by the Tigers forcing a BCU timeout, the Chargers netted their first points of the game as DWU continued to lead 10-2.
- Teegan Evers earned DWU their largest lead of the game after knocking down a jumper for the 13-2 lead after five minutes of play.
- Briar Cliff compiled a 10-0 run after Evers knocked down the jump shot: bringing the Chargers within one point of tying the game at 13-12.
- BCU continued to add to their run with three more points and the 15-13 lead over the Tigers before Sawyer Schultz tied the game for DWU at 15-15.
- With only six minutes remaining in the first half and Dakota Wesleyan up 25-23, Briar Cliff tied the game once again at 25 all.
- BCU collected on a shot from deep with one-minute remaining to lead DWU 37-33 going into halftime.
- After 20-minutes of play, the Tigers were shooting 46.4% from the field, 37.5% beyond the arc, and were 1-of-2 at the free-throw line.
- Briar Cliff was shooting, 57.7% from the floor, 44.4% from distance, and 3-of-6 at the foul line.
- After opening second-half baskets by both teams, the Tigers were held scoreless for nearly five minutes as BCU jumped ahead to a 45-38 lead.
- Koln Oppold closed the Briar Cliff lead to six points after a mid-range jump shot, but the spark proved not to be big enough as it was the closest DWU came to tying the game.
- With three and a half minutes left in the game, Drew Cole cut the Charges lead to nine after a shot from beyond the arc but proved not enough as the Tigers fall 76-64.
- In the game, DWU shot 44.4% from the floor, 40.7% from three, and 55.6% at the foul line.
- The Tigers narrowly outrebounded the Chargers 27-25 as both team benches chipped in with 15 points.
- Dakota Wesleyan was outscored in the paint 42-14 and 15-3 on points off turnovers
