TIGER MEN’S BASKETBALL SEASON COMES TO AN END IN THE CONFERENCE SEMIFINAL ROUND AT JAMESTOWN.

Jamestown, N.D. – Dakota Wesleyan men's basketball falls in the GPAC Semifinal round against the Jimmies of Jamestown Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • After a 4-0 start for the Jimmies, Jeffrey Schuch collected on a three-pointer closing the deficit to one.
  • DWU was not able to collect on another basket for nearly eight minutes, allowing UJ to jump out to a 26-7 lead.
  • Nick Wittler collected on a shot from distance with just under seven-minutes left in the first half as Jamestown led 30-12.
  • Proceeding a jump shot by the Jimmies, Teegan Evers hit a three-pointer closing the score to 32-15.
  • The Tigers forced a 30-second timeout from UJ with 16-seconds left in the first half as the Jimmies led heading into half time 42-19.
  • DWU came out in the second half going on a 9-4 run closing the UJ lead to 46-29.
  • After a 5-2 run by the Tigers, Coach Wilber took at timeout to regroup as they continued to trail 51-34.
  • Nearing the 10-minute mark of the second half, Mason Larson converted on a pair of free throws as the Jimmies continued to lead 38-55.
  • With 6:23 remaining in the second half, Schuch hit a shot from deep for a 64-43 score.
  • After a scoring drought that lasted several minutes, Samuel Aslesen collected on a triple with 3:31 left in the second half.
  • In the final minute of the game, DWU went on a 5-0 run but proved not to be enough as the Tigers fall to the Jimmies 81-56 in the GPAC Semifinal game.
  • Overall, DWU shot 29.5% from the floor, 32.3% beyond the arc, and converted on 10-of-12 shots from the charity stripe.
  • The Jimmies shot 53.6% from the field, 31.3% from distance, and converted on 14-of-15 free throws.
  • DWU was outrebounded by UJ 39-31 as both teams collected seven points off turnovers.
  • The Jimmies made 44 points in the paint compared to the 12 DWU made in the paint.
