
Crete, Neb. – Dakota Wesleyan men's basketball dominated Doane in the second battle of the tigers' game this season shooting 60% from the field and 64.7% beyond the arc after just 20-minutes of play. DWU continued to dominate into the second half as they led Doane in nearly all major categories including field goal percentage, three-point percentage, rebounds, assists, points off turnovers, and points in the paint.

How It Happened
DWU got off to another quick start, jumping ahead 8-4 after nearly four minutes of play. All eight points to open the game for the Tigers came out of the hands of Blaze Lubbers hitting a pair of shots from deep and a jump shot. Lubbers wasn't done there, he continued to be the only one scoring for DWU, converting on a pair of free throws pushing the lead to six, 10-4 with 15:30 to play in the first half. Jakob Dobney got in on the action after that hitting a pair of shots beyond the arc helping to push the DWU lead to 16-9. With under 11 and a half minutes to play in the first half, Dakota Wesleyan was still all over Doane leading by 12 after another basket beyond the arc from Diang Gatluak this time. Koln Oppold got in one the scoring action with just under 10-minutes to play, keeping DWU ahead of Doane 28-15. The Final two minutes and 49-seconds of the opening half, Dakota Wesleyan put on a 9-2 run securing their 23-point lead heading into the locker room for halftime.
Doane opened the second half slow as DWU was able to pick up where they left off hitting key shots in the paint and beyond the arc. As the 10-minute mark neared, the nearly 20-point lead dwindled to 12 points, 59-47. Doane began to make a push after that, cutting the DWU lead to nine points, 65-56 with 6:49 to play, then again even more with 2:24 to play when they made a shot beyond the arc for an eight-point margin. Alan Kikwaki put DWU back to a double-digit lead at 74-64 with two-minutes to play. Gatluak pushed it out even more with 90-seconds to play as he went above the rim for a dunk. Kikwaki tallied the last basket of the game with 49-seconds to play converting on one-of-two free throws securing the DWU win 80-69 over Doane.
Doane never led in the game as the DWU Tigers posted their largest lead of 24 just seconds into the second half. Overall, the Tigers were dominate in nearly every category including field goal percentage, 53%; three-point percentage, 50%, points off turnovers, 10; rebounds, 30; second chance points, 10; and assists, 21.
