GPAC Men's Basketball Preseason Poll: Tigers Sitting in Middle of the Pack

Last year, the Tigers finished with a 9-11 record, placing 8th in the final standings. While they faced challenges throughout the season, there were signs of talent. The preseason poll indicates that the conference has confidence in the Tigers' ability to increase their overall positioning this season. Outscoring teams like Hastings, Midland, Doane, Mount Marty, and Waldorf reflects a growing belief that Dakota Wesleyan can compete within the GPAC.

 

The Tigers head coach, Kevin Williamson, shared his thoughts on the preseason poll of his new team. "It's about where I expected us to be, the GPAC has really good teams coming back with Concordia, Northwestern and Dordt. All three teams with a lot of experienced GPAC returning talent. I am excited about our team's defensive ceiling and our depth ... The overall talent in our program excites me to where we can go." Also mentioning their height, "it'll be interesting and fun to watch our team use different lineups with a lot of height and length versus some lineups with a lot of smaller and quicker players." "Local Mitchell talent, Steele Morgan, has been a interesting athlete to coach so far and I've seen a lot of progress in his development and what he can bring to the team since getting here in June." With a roster that showcases a mix of returning talent and new recruits, Dakota Wesleyan is well-positioned to build on last years' experience and capitalize on the lessons learned.
