Tigers’ Postseason Run Ends with Tough GPAC Quarterfinal Loss to Morningside

Mitchell, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan men's basketball team fought hard but ultimately fell short in a 91-74 loss to RV Morningside in the GPAC Quarterfinals on Wednesday night. Despite a strong second-half push, the Tigers were unable to overcome Morningside's hot shooting.

The Tigers (20-9, 13-7) battled throughout the contest, shooting 40.6% from the field and 80% from the free-throw line. However, Morningside's efficiency proved to be the difference, as the Mustangs shot an impressive 66.1% from the field, including 59.1% from beyond the arc.

Morningside came out firing, building a 44-29 lead at halftime behind a red-hot shooting performance. Dakota Wesleyan struggled to find its rhythm early, shooting just 37.5% from the field and 18.8% from three-point range in the opening half.

After the break, the Tigers responded with an improved offensive attack, scoring 45 second-half points. Tampa Scott IV led the charge, scoring a team-high 21 points while also grabbing six rebounds and dishing out four assists. Samuel Aslesen made a big impact in the post, recording a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds while going 9-for-11 from the free-throw line.

Randy Rosenquist Jr. added 14 points and three assists, knocking down three three-pointers, while Jakob Dobney contributed six points and two assists.
