
MITCHELL, S.D. – Four members of the Tigers men's basketball team have earned All-Conference GPAC honors, as selected by the conference's coaches. Senior Tampa Scott IV led the way with a First-Team selection, while fellow senior Samuel Aslesen was named to the Second Team. Jakob Dobney and Randy Rosenquist Jr. received Honorable Mention recognition.
Tampa Scott IV (Mesa, Ariz., Sr., Kinesiology-Exercise Science) - First Team
Scott delivered an impressive senior season, averaging 13.5 points per game while shooting 49.8% from the field and an outstanding 91.7% from the free-throw line. The Mesa, Ariz., native made an immediate impact as a senior transfer, earning a First-Team All-GPAC selection. He recorded a season-high 24 points against Dordt (Iowa) on February 22 and joined the program's prestigious 1,000-point club, becoming the 62nd Tiger to achieve the milestone.
Samuel Aslesen (Howard, S.D., Sr., Mathematics) - Second Team
Aslesen had a career-best season, averaging 15.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game while shooting 78.2% from the free-throw line. The Howard, S.D., native earned his second career All-GPAC honor after receiving Honorable Mention recognition in the 2023-24 season. His standout performance came on December 29, when he scored a season-high 29 points against Jamestown (N.D.).
Jakob Dobney (Vermillion, S.D., Sr., Psychology) - Honorable Mention
Dobney capped off a strong senior season by averaging 11.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. He tied his career-high with a 30-point explosion against Morningside (Iowa) on February 12. His defensive efforts earned him GPAC Defensive Player of the Week honors on February 4. Additionally, Dobney became the 61st player in program history to reach the 1,000-point milestone.
Randy Rosenquist Jr. (North Sioux City, S.D., Jr., Business) - Honorable Mention
Rosenquist played a key role for the Tigers, averaging 10.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. The North Sioux City native had a season-high 21-point performance against Briar Cliff (Iowa) on November 26. He also recorded a dominant rebounding effort with a season-high 14 boards against Valley City State (N.D.) on November 9.
Tristan Smith of Concordia University (Neb.) was named both GPAC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. Jesse Van Kalsbeek of Northwestern (Iowa) earned Freshman of the Year honors, while Coach of the Year was awarded to Dordt (Iowa) head coach Brian Van Haaften.
