CARPENTER CONCLUDES SHORTENED GPAC CHAMPIONSHIP WITH ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS

Vermillion, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan men's golf season ends on short notice due to the high winds at The Bluff Golf Course today. The Tigers wrapped up the season finishing eighth in the conference as Cade Carpenter notched All-GPAC honors finishing tied for tenth place.

 

How It Happened

DWU came into the final day of the regular season looking to improve in the team standings and the individual standings. After a shortened GPAC Championship the Tigers were held at eighth overall shooting a team total of 931. Micah Dohrer concluded his season with a 41st place finish after shooting a total of 246. Payton Phares shot a conference championship total of 234 placing him in 32nd place. Bennett Lundy finished tied for 20thplace with Dordt's Dutch Farr after shooting a total of 230. The Tigers tallied one All-GPAC performer in Cade Carpenter. Carpenter concluded the 2021-22 season tied for tenth place with Jackson Sitzmann of Morningside and Mason Collins of Briar Cliff after shooting a conference total of 224.

"It's unfortunate we weren't able to complete the final round of the year, but I'm happy with hour the guys performed throughout the season. Congratulations to Carpenter for his All-GPAC performance shooting eight over par. I'd like to thank our seniors for all the hard work and dedication over the past four season.

 

Up Next

Dakota Wesleyan men's golf will now begin preparing for the 2022-23 season. Coach Pick and Tiger golf is set to have some upgraded practice facilities on campus this summer as they add on to the current putting and chipping room in the Christen Athletic Center.
