How It Happened

Bettcher was off to a rocky start yesterday carding a pair of bogey shots in his first two holes of the day. Overall, the front nine gave him some trouble, but the back nine is where he was able to clean up his game and climb the leader board. The back nine for Bettcher posted five par shots and three birdie shots on holes, 11, 12, and 14 as he was able to stay relatively close to par shooting a 77.

VanBeek, Dohrer, and Cavanaugh all struggled on the course with the difficult layout of the first round. Combined they carded only 15 par shots and three birdie shots on the day. VanBeek was able to stay away from the double bogey shots keeping his score at 84, while Dohrer and Cavanaugh each recorded multiple double bogeys pushing them in carding an 85 and 88, respectively.
