Camdenton, Mo. – The Tigers men's golf team started their spring season in Camdenton, Missouri. Where they took part in the 36 hole Verhille Invitational. The golfers who represented the Tigers were Connor Calahan, Dakota Munger, Peyton Bettcher, Drew Norberg, and Jackson Childs. Individually, Jack Olson and Ryan Flannery competed in the invite. Going into the meet coach Meyerink had this to say about the surrounding competition, "This is a very strong field. Strongest i've seen for sure. A lot of ranking points up for grabs. Men are going to have to play some good golf on a difficult track."
Team Highlights:

Connor Calahan led the Tigers with an +6 performance, tying for 23rd place on day one. On day two Calahan jumped up one spot, 23, with a +6 score. Same score as his day one performance. Total +12.

Dakota Munger is the next Tiger golfer up on the leaderboard as he scored a +9 on day one that placed him tied for 32nd. Munger had a nice bounce back from day one as in round two he finished the day with a +5 score. Making his total +14 and finishing in 20th overall.

Peyton Bettcher scored a +12 for the first round. Putting him tied for 72nd. Bettcher also climbed up the leaderboard as he moved up 10 spots, putting him at 62nd. Round two score was a +9> Ending his meet score at +21.

Andrew Norberg is tied for 84th after round one with a score of +15. On day two, round two, Norberg didn't see as much improvement as his fellow Tigers as he tied for 87th split 5-ways and scored another +15. Total score of +30.

Jackson Childs rounded out the Tigers varsity team. He's currently placed 103 after day one with a score of +27. Childs moved up one spot on day two himself. He scored a +21 in round two that totaled him at +46.
Individual Highlights:

Ryan Flannery competed individually. He's currently sitting at 99th place to finish round one. +21 on day one was his score. On day two Flannery moved up to 98th as he scored a +16.

Jack Olson finished at 103 on day one. He has a score of +27. Olson moved up two spots in round tw, from 101 to 103. He had a better day two with a +21 score and totaled at +48.
As a team the men's golf team finished in 14th place overall. Moving up from 15th after day one. They scored a collective score of +77. +42 on day one and +35 on day two. As coach Meyerink mentioned, there was strong competition and the golfing Tigers, as their numbers show, played their best golf on day two.
Tigers Look Ahead:
The golfing Tigers will take part in the Briar Cliff Match Play tournament in Sioux City, Iowa. Hosted by Briar Cliff University. The women's team will also take part in the tournament. Both teams will play at Green Valley golf course.
