Men's Golf Competes in Hardrocker Spring Invite

Rapid City, S.D. – The Tigers men's golf team traveled to Rapid City on monday and tuesday to compete in the 2025 Hareocker Spring Invite hosted by South Dakot Mines. The golfers who represented the Tigers, as a team, were Dakota Munger, Andrew Norberg, Jackson Childs, Connor Calahan, and Cody Cavanaugh. Individually, Ryan Flannery and Brendon VanBeek competed as well.

Team Highlights:

- Dakota Munger (Fr.) led the Tigers with an +11 performance, tying for 14th overall. On day one Munger tied for 7th place with a score of +5. On day two he ended with a score of +6. He had some consistency as he led his team on day 2. 
- Connor Calahan (So.) is the next Tiger golfer up on the leaderboard as he scored a +13 to end the tournament. On day one he ended in 4th place with a score of +3, but struggled on day two as he scored a +10. Giving him an overall finish in 21st place. 
- Andrew Norberg (Jr.) found consistentcy on the green as his day one and day two scores were close, +8 and +9. Norberg finished in 27th place overall. 
- Jackson Childs (So.) finished day one and day two at 34th place. On day one he scored a +13. On day two Childs bounced back and was able to close out with a +9. Totaling a score of +22. 
- Cody Cavanaugh (Sr.) rounded out the Tigers varsity team. He tied for 39th overall. On day one he finished in 40th place with a score of +19, but as day two continued he was able to find a way to move up one spot. His day two score was +17. His total was +36.
 

Individual Highlights:

- Brendon VanBeek (Fr.) competed individually. VanBeek was consistent throughout the tournament. On day one he scored +11 and on day two he scored +10. His final score was +21 and finished in 31st place. 
Ryan Flannery (Jr.) competed individually. He's sat at 36th place on both days of competition. +16 on day one was his score. On day two Flannery might not of moved up or down, but he had a big second day as he scored a +7 to finish out the day. His score total was +36.
 
As a team the men's golf team finished in 6th place overall. Falling 2 spots after a rough day two. On day one they finished with a +29 scorecard that tied them for 3. With a rough day two, score of +34, they dropped 2 spots. They scored a collective score of +63. +29 on day one and +34 on day two. 
 

Tigers Look Ahead:

The men's golf team plans to compete next week at home. They will be hosting a tournament at Lakeview Municipal golf course in Mitchell, South Dakota. They plan to golf for 54 holes while hosting multiple NAIA schools. Some schools who are scheduled participate are Dicknson State University, Valley City State University, York University, Mayville State University, Briar Cliff University, and Mount Mart University.
