Tiger Men’s Soccer Wins 5th Straight

MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer continued its strong play of late with a 5-0 win over Presentation College Thursday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell, S.D.

The Tigers have found the back of the net early in games all season, and the game against the Saints was no exception. Peter Wartenberg (Chaska, Minn.) broke the ice for the Tigers (5-4) in the 16th minute on an assist from senior Sophomore Bryce Berletic (Rochester, Minn.), while senior Chaz Foss (Rapid City, S.D.) tallied his fourth goal of the season, also assisted by Berletic, eight minutes later to give DWU a 2-0 lead.

With the same score coming out of halftime, DWU found the back of the net two more times early in the second half, including another goal for Wartenberg from Berletic. Junior Zach Schneider (Sioux Falls, S.D.) scored his second goal of the season on a shot following a rebound, while reigning Great Plains Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week Adam Jahnel (Blair, Neb.) extended the DWU lead further with a goal in the 68th minute.

Foss picked up an assist on each of the final two goals for the Tigers, who outshot the Saints 16 to 13.

Junior goalkeeper Alex Nelson (Sioux Falls, S.D.) recorded his fourth shutout of the season for the Tigers, making one save in 68 minutes against the Saints
