Red Raiders Edge Tiger Men in GPAC Clash

ORANGE CITY, Neb. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team fought Northwestern College hard to the end in a tight Great Plains Athletic Conference matchup Tuesday in Orange City, Iowa.

The Tigers held Northwestern to just one goal on 21 shots, but DWU could not find the equalizer and fell 1-0. The loss drops DWU to 3-9-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the GPAC this season.

The game's lone goal came in the 39th minute from Northwestern's Alex Schussman on a feed from Ben Fetter and stood the rest of the way as the game winner. The Red Raiders held DWU to just two shots total and none on net.

DWU freshman goalkeeper Gaston Miteff (Berazategui, Argentina) mad six saves in the loss as he continues to perform well in his first year with the Tigers.

DWU looks to get in the win column in the GPAC against Midland University at 1 p.m. Saturday in Fremont, Neb.
