Tiger men fall to Midland in Fremont

FREMONT, Neb. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team fell to Midland University 7-1 in a Great Plains Athletic Conference match Saturday in Fremont, Neb.

The Tigers allowed six goals in the first half including three from Ben Hutton. The loss drops DWU to 3-10-1 overall and 0-5-1 in the GPAC.

DWU got on the board in the second half on the first goal of the season from senior Sterling Hubbard (Jamestown, N.D.) on a feed from sophomore Derek Brenner (Yankton, S.D.). The goal is the second of Hubbard's career and first since his sophomore season. Brenner's assist is the first of his Tiger career.

The Tigers were outshot 29-8 in the game.

DWU looks to break through in the GPAC against instate rival Mount Marty College at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell, S.D.
