Tiger men drop first GPAC contest of the season

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team jumped into Great Plains Athletic Conference action, dropping a 3-1 decision to Northwestern College Wednesday in Orange City, Iowa.

  Senior Peter Wartenberg (Chaska, Minn.) scored the lone goal for the Tigers. Daniel Clas (Buenos Aires, Argentina) tallied a shot on goal in the loss.

 Goalkeeper Gaston Miteff (Berazategui, Argentina) recorded 15 saves for DWU, a season-high.

 The Red Raiders outshot the Tigers 29-10.

 The Tigers (1-7, 0-1 GPAC) host Doane University for a GPAC battle at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell, S.D.
