MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's' soccer team were unable to find a rhythm on Wednesday night, dropping a 3-1 Great Plains Athletic Conference battle to Morningside College at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell, S.D.
In the first half, the Mustangs found the net for their first goal of the game, followed by two more in the second. The Tigers eventually got on the scoreboard late in the second half when junior Thomas Dienst (Fairbault, Minn.) picked up his first goal of the season on a header off a corner kick from Connor Dodds (Durham, England).
Daniel Clas (Buenos Aires, Argentina) tallied a shot on goal in the loss. Goalkeeper Gaston Miteff (Berazategui, Argentina) held the Mustangs at bay for most of the first half, recording 13 saves in the contest. The Tigers were outshot 21-3.
The Tigers (1-9, 0-3 GPAC) travel to Midland University at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Fremont, Neb.
