MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team had a hard time controlling the speedy Briar Cliff University soccer team in a Great Plains Athletic Conference battle. The Chargers went on to defeat DWU 3-0 on Wednesday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell, S.D.
BCU jumped on the scoreboard first with a goal in the first half and two more in the second. Daniel Clas (Buenos Aires, Argentina) recorded the lone shot on goal for the Tigers. Senior Peter Wartenberg (Chaska, Minn.) added a shot in the loss.
BCU outshot DWU 15-2. Goalie Gaston Miteff (Berzategui, Argentina) tallied eight saves.
The Tigers (1-11, 0-4 GPAC) take on Mount Marty College at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday in Yankton, S.D.
