Concordia tops Tiger men on Sunday

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Due to inclement weather, the Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team took on undefeated Concordia University in a Great Plains Athletic Conference contest Sunday at Sioux Falls O'Gorman High School in Sioux Falls, S.D.

 The Bulldogs scored early and often to defeat the Tigers 5-0.

 Concordia (7-0-1, 1-0-0 GPAC) scored four goals in the first half and another in the final half to give the Tigers their first conference loss of the season.

 The Bulldogs outshot the Tigers 19-3, while also recording eight corner kicks.

 For DWU, Brandon Jahnel (Blair, Neb.), Gage Pemberton (Overland Park, Kan.) and Derek Brenner (Yankton, S.D.) recorded a shot in the loss. Goalie Gaston Miteff (Berazategui, Argentina) had three saves.

 The Tigers (3-5, 0-1 GPAC) visit Dordt College for a GPAC game at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Sioux Center, Iowa.
