CRETE, Neb. – Tied at zero heading into halftime, the Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team was unable to hold off Doane University in Great Plains Athletic Conference action Saturday in Crete, Neb. Doane went on to score two goals in the final 30 minutes to defeat DWU 2-0.
Caleb Larson (Mitchell, S.D.) led the Tiger attack with two shots, while Reece Weber (Brookings, S.D.) and Derek Brenner (Yankton, S.D.) added a shot.
Doane outshot DWU 20-4 in the loss. Goalie Gaston Miteff (Berazategui, Argentina) tallied seven saves in the net.
The Tigers finish the season with an overall record of 4-13 and a 1-8 record in GPAC play. DWU loses five seniors to graduation, but return a large group of experienced players for next season.
