DWU drops game to York College

YORK, Neb. –York College used a three-goal second half outbreak to take a 4-1 victory over the Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team on Saturday.

 The Panthers (3-1) scored their first goal of the game late in the first half to take a 1-0 lead into the locker room. York added three more goals in the second half. With just under four minutes remaining in the game, Rene Montiel (Fremont, Calif.) scored to cut the Panther lead to three. But, it was not enough as York went on to win the match.

 Jared Montoya (Albuquerque, N.M.) and Gage Pemberton (Overland Park, Kan.) each finished with a shot, as Khang Nguyen (San Jose, Calif.) tallied eight saves in the net for the Tigers (1-3).

 DWU will hit the road for a non-conference matchup with Central Christian College (Kan.) at 6 p.m. Saturday in McPherson, Kan.
