SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team was unable to overcome an early hole as they lost to (RV) Morningside College, 5-0 in a Great Plains Athletic Conference game on Saturday in Sioux City, Iowa.
The Mustangs (7-1, 1-0 GPAC) opened up a 2-0 lead following goals in the sixth and seventh minutes early in the game.
Morningside was held to just two goals through most of the first half until they added two more goals with 10 minutes to play until halftime.
The Tigers (1-3-2, 0-1-1 GPAC) were unable to muster a goal in the contest as they finished with just six shots in the game, dropping the road contest.
Jason Jattan (Union City, Calif.), Julian Mole (Canning, Buenos Aires), Rafael Medrano (Phoenix, Ariz.), Andrew Browning (Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands) and Gage Pemberton (Overland Park, Kan.) each recorded a shot. Matthew Campbell (Duluth, Minn.) tallied 10 saves for the Tigers.
