MITCHELL, S.D. – Thanks to a pair of goals in each half, the Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team shot past Presentation College in their Great Plains Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell.
It did not take long for the Tigers (2-3-2, 1-1-1 GPAC) to get on the scoreboard as Rafael Medrano (Phoenix, Ariz.) nailed a shot into the goal after Tyler Anderson (Monticello, Minn.) assisted the goal in the third minute.
Just 20 minutes later, Lucas Bule (Buenos Aires, Argentina) found Joel Sanchez (Salinas, Calif.) who sent a shot into the net to double the Tiger advantage. DWU held onto the 2-0 lead at halftime.
Five minutes into the second half, Julian Mole (Canning, Buenos Aires) sailed the ball past the keeper to extend the lead to three points.
In the 68th minute, Ronaldo Acosta (Half Moon Bay, Calif.) put away his penalty kick to push the lead to 4-0, as the Tigers cruised past the Saints (1-6, 0-5 GPAC) at home.
Acosta, Mole, Medrano and Sanchez each tallied a goal, while Anderson and Bule recorded an assist each. DWU finished with 13 shots to the eight shots of PC, while the Tigers added three corner kicks.
