Tigers stifled against Northwestern

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team struggled to score and keep Northwestern College from scoring as they dropped the Great Plains Athletic Conference showdown, 6-0 Saturday in Orange City, Iowa.

 The Red Raiders (7-6, 4-2 GPAC) scored a pair of first half goals beginning in the seventh minute. In the 32nd minute, NWC added the second goal as they held a 2-0 lead at halftime.

 Just 10 minutes into the second half, NWC tacked on another goal to make it 3-0. The Tigers (2-6-3, 1-4-1 GPAC) conceded three more goals in the contest as they left Orange City with a defeat.

 Isais Pio (Santa Cruz, Calif.) and Omar Torres (Lindsay, Calif.) tallied two shots apiece for DWU, while Matthew Campbell (Duluth, Minn.) recorded six saves.

 DWU takes on University of Jamestown at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Jamestown, N.D.
