FREMONT, Neb. – Despite scoring a pair of goals, the Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team was unable to keep Midland University from a flurry of goals as they lost 7-2 Saturday in Fremont, Neb.
The Tigers (2-7-1, 1-6-1 GPAC) scored first as Ndrin Maloku (Prishtine, Albania) let a shot rip to the upper right corner of the goal to hand the Tigers an early 1-0 lead.
Nine minutes later, the Warriors (4-1, 4-1 GPAC) evened the scoreline with a goal of their own. Midland scored its second goal of the half in the 38th minute to take its first lead of the game.
Two early goals in the second half extended the Midland lead to three goals. However, Maloku added his second goal of the game to pull within two goals.
But the Warriors added three more goals to hold off the Tigers.
Maloku finished with two goals on four shots, as Matthew Campbell (Duluth, Minn.) notched two saves in the goal.
