DWU MEN'S SOCCER UNABLE TO HANG ONTO HALFTIME LEAD

La Crosse, Wis. – Dakota Wesleyan men's soccer dropped game two of the season to St. Ambrose 4-2. The Tigers were outshot 10-1 in the second half and 13-4 in the match

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • DWU jumped ahead early in the match as Rafael Calderon found the back of the net in 56 seconds
  • The Tigers netted their second and final goal of the game at the 32-minute mark as Cesar Requena netted the unassisted goal
  • Going into halftime Dakota Wesleyan and St. Ambrose were tied at three shots, while Tigers goalkeeper Hunter Birozy notched three saves
  • Right away in the second half, St. Ambrose scored two goals within four minutes of each other to tie the game
  • The final two goals from St. Ambrose came at the 66-minute mark and the 76-minute mark for the final score of 4-2

Dakota Wesleyan men's soccer returns for a two-game homestand. On Wednesday, August 25, the Tigers will have a 7 p.m. kickoff against the Bruins of Bellevue University. Then on Saturday, September 4 at 1 p.m., the Tigers will kick off against Viterbo University.
