MEN’S SOCCER STUMBLES AGAINST LANCERS IN NON-CONFERENCE AFFAIR

YANKTON, S.D. –  The Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team suffered a 6-0 loss versus in-state rival Mount Marty University in non-conference play on Wednesday from Crane-Youngworth field in Yankton, S.D.

 Out of the gate, it was Mount Marty taking complete control of the match in the opening half of action. The Lancers attempted six shots on goal in the first 24 minutes including two that found the back of the net in the 8th and 12th minute.

 The score remained unbothered at halftime with the Lancers (2-0-1) holding a 2-0 lead while the Tigers (1-5-0) managed a pair of shots in the first half.

 Mount Marty pushed across another pair of goals midway through the second half before breaking the match wide open and ultimately securing the 6-0 victory.

 Dakota Wesleyan returns to the pitch next versus Waldorf University in non-conference action at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday in Forest City, Iowa.
