TIGERS GO 0-2 ON THE WEEKEND, 6-0 FINAL WITH UNIVERSITY OF JAMESTOWN

La Crosse, Wis. – The Tigers fall by a score of 6-0 in a non-conference matchup with University of Jamestown in day two of games in La Crosse, Wis. Dakota Wesleyan drops to 0-2-1 on the season with the Jimmies improving to 1-1-0.

Recap

Within the first minute of the game University of Jamestown was handed a yellow card. The Jimmies were on the attack immediately following the card with shots on goal in the 2nd, 6th and 7th minutes.  All three attempts were handled by DWU starting goalkeeper, Garrett Douglas. Still in the 7th minute the Jimmies would stay on the attack and get their first goal of the half to find the back of the net for a 1-0 early lead.

Jamestown would go on to score goals in the 8th and 11th minute as well to extend their lead to 3-0 on the Tigers. Douglas would record a save in the 14th minute to keep the score there. DWU would get good looks in the 21st and 22nd minute but the shot attempts would miss high keeping it a 3-0 score. The Jimmies would add to their lead with a goal in the 23rd minute for a 4-0 advantage.

Dakota Wesleyan would get a good scoring chance when Lucas Paixao recorded a shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the attempt was handled by the Jimmie's goalkeeper. Tigers would stay on the attack with another shot on goal from Garrett Hanna in the 29th minute.  Nothing would come from the attempt and the score would remain 4-0 at the end of the first half.

The Tigers would have a new look at goalkeeper in the second half with Riley Brennan taking over. The first shot on goal in the second half wouldn't come tell the 64th minute when DWU midfielder Hanna would get his second look but once again be handled by the Jimmies goalie. Tigers would get another scoring chance with Cesar Requena shot on goal in the 65th minute but the score would remain 4-0.

Roberto Gerardo Romero would record his first shot on goal in the 72nd minute with the shot finding the hands of the Jimmie goalkeeper. The tigers would commit a foul inside the box in the 79th minute resulting in a penalty kick for the Jimmies that they would convert for a goal making it a 5-0 score. The Jimmies would add a last second goal in the 90th minute for a 6-0 final.
