Hastings, Neb –

DWU men's soccer team fell in their first conference game of the season to Hastings College 3-0. The Broncos played a fast-paced offense and forced the Tigers to be on the defensive throughout the match.

How It Happened –

DWU went into Hastings with a four-game winning streak and looked to continue with a conference win. Hastings had other plans and went on the attack early in the match. The Broncos outshot the Tigers eleven to one in the first half, with two shots getting past Tiger goalkeeper Hunter Birozy. The Tigers looked to improve in the second but ran into a stout Bronco defense. Vladislav Burkov tried to find the back of the goal with one of his four shots but was unsuccessful. The Broncos fired eleven more shots in the second half with one shot able to find the back of the net. Birozy ended the match with six saves.

The Tigers next match is set for September 18th when DWU hosts Concordia College Moorhead. The match is set to kickoff at 4 PM at Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell, S.D.
