MAGNUSON CLAIMS SHOT PUT TITLE; SAYLER & SHANKS ALSO HEADED TO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Yankton, S.D. –

The big three for Dakota Wesleyan's indoor track team did not disappoint at the GPAC Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend. Abby Magnuson came out on top in the women's shot put, as she threw the top mark that also broke the facility record. Caleb Sayler hit the "B" Standard in the 1-mile race where he finished fourth. Hunter Shanks crossed the finish line in third place in the 800m, just a hair behind two Dordt runners. The trio will be moving onto Brookings, S.D. where the NAIA National Championships will be held.

Head Coach Matt Rosado –

"Another indoor season has wrapped up and we ended on a great note. Caleb hit the qualifying standard for the mile, Hunter finished third in the 800m with a tactical race, and Abby brings home the conference title in the shot put, possibly the first in school history. Nate also put together a great heptathlon to end his career on high note. I couldn't be prouder of how we carried ourselves this weekend and throughout the indoor season. I am super excited for what the outdoor season has in store for us."

Up Next for the Tigers –

The Tigers will head off to Brookings, S.D. from February 29th through March 2nd. Schedule of the meet will be posted later.
